IS IT PROFITABLE?
Mattress sanitizing is a relatively new business in the United States. Right now there are only a handful of companies who are doing it. However, in Europe there are over 8000 companies and growing, and it was only started there about 12 years ago. There is obviously money to be made or there would not be that kind of growth. Since it is new to the U.S., and the U.S. is a much larger market, the potential is unlimited; especially for those getting in early. The equipment is easy to use and is not expensive (especially compared to other businesses), and any size vehicle can be used to transport the equipment. You can increase the size of your business by adding teams to do the work as the company grows. You can also expand the business by adding carpet cleaning, and tile and grout cleaning, laminate and wood floor no sanding restoration, and more. These services can be very profitable, and we can help you add these services on when you are ready. While servicing the bedroom is a high priority, significant benefits can also be had by cleaning other areas of the house where people spend a lot of time.
Furniture cleaning should be part of your business right away. After all, the goal here is not just to sanitize a mattress, but to make the whole home as allergen free as possible. It is a simple process and we will show you how to do it, and how to charge. There are three reasons you should clean the furniture.
1. You should always offer to clean and sanitize the furniture,* because dust mites and other pathogens also live in them. Most people want their furniture to look good anyway, so it is an easier sell.
2. This gives you the opportunity to add substantial income to your mattress cleaning business, while doing a complete and professional job. You will be able to advertise furniture cleaning as well as mattress cleaning. There will be people who may not be interested in getting their mattresses cleaned, but will be interested in getting their furniture cleaned. But most will be interested in getting it all cleaned and sanitized.
3. Furniture cleaning is already huge; people and businesses have it done all the time; it can give you immediate income as your mattress cleaning grows.
As your company grows and you become more comfortable with the business, you can add other services. We will show you how to market to allergy and asthma sufferers. This will be an extremely lucrative market and is totally untouched. These people will notice the most drastic difference in how they feel after the cleaning, and will be your best cheerleaders, which will get you many new customers. However, you need to treat not only the mattress and pillows, but the furniture and do a whole house anti-allergy treatment to be totally effective. Anyone telling you differently is either naive or not being totally honest.
You can also sell your customers our anti-allergen products, our air purifiers, as well as other products. This will generate even more income. When they run out of the product they will contact you to buy more. This will give you residual income, especially after you have built a larger client base, plus it keeps you in contact with your customers so you can remind them to have their homes re-cleaned, which should be about every six months.
You will also be authorized to sell our special anti-allergen vacuum system. Once they see this system being used by you, and see and smell the difference in their home they will be asking where they can get one. There is a substantial profit in selling these machines. These machines are particularly suited for asthma and allergy suffers because they purify the air as you vacuum while dispersing water washed pure clean air back into the room, more on that later.
When your customers (especially asthma and allergy suffers) see and feel the difference in how much better they feel, how much better they sleep, how much more energy they have, and how much their suffering has diminished or disappeared altogether, they are more than willing to pay for this service over and over again.
And the greatest selling point of all is, you are going to guarantee it! (Click to read about the guarantee - Opens in a new window or tab)

We give a 10 percent discount on two mattresses, 15 percent on three mattresses, and 25 percent on four or more mattresses.
All the below figures are an example of a typical family of four living in an 1800 square foot house. In this example there are three beds, a king and two twins, plus furniture and carpeting. The following table shows the income you should generate from cleaning and treating the mattresses in this house.

Now for that same family let's say you cleaned the above mattresses for $190.96, and also cleaned and sanitized their couch, loveseat, & two recliners. The following table shows the income that this would generate.
Now it is very important that you apply the Anti-Allergy Relief Treatment to the whole house using our SM100 Injection vapor machine. You should be charging about 15 cents a square foot for this service. This is an 1800 square foot house (we will show you how to quickly measure that). It should take you about 10 minutes.

Your total income for this typical house would be $781.96 for about 3 hours of work.
*With two people you can easily do two maybe even three of these a day. If the house is bigger than 1800 square feet and/or has more bedrooms, furniture or carpeting you will make more, and upscale homes which are primary market targets are bigger than 1800 square feet.
This process, especially for people with allergies, should be done every 6 months.
The Economy
Here are some responses from one of the cleaning boards about how business is doing in this economy:
In this economy

People often ask me "how is business, has this economy slowed you down any?" They are amazed when I tell them I am very busy and business is great. I told my finacial advisor this and he said that's the first business he's heard that can say that. Last yr my lawyer said the same thing when I told him. I really could tell them every yr has gotten better and this is my best yr yet. WOW, what a blessing! I have much to be thankful for.

Good job Tim
There is also something to be said about what it takes to 'satisfy' a family too. Why is it 1 house can live on XX a year the next door neighbor with the same house cannot survive on 30K more than the other??
standard of living & retirement saving expectation - & then BOY TOYS.... changes everything

I've been waiting for the big slowdown for over a year myself and I too am swamped with work.I had at last 15 callers last month that needed things done right away and I just couldn't squeeze in another job.
Every once in awhile I get tempted to complain about burnout, but then I remember all those sitting at home with no work and I am thankful!

Business success is what you make of it. I'm a one man operation and business has been great. I haven't had time to upgrade my van or eqipment. Can't wait for the business Christmas season!
I give all Glory, Honor and Praise to GOD!
