The U.S. government, National Health Organization, and big businesses have partnered together to educate all of us on what the EPA calls the #1 health concern in the U.S.- indoor air pollution. Dust mite allergens account for 80 to 90 percent of allergenic compound found in the home. Most of these allergenic compounds are found in the mattresses, but also the furniture, and carpet of the home.
This is great news for people getting into this field, because they are, and will be getting all kinds of free publicity, warning people about the effects of poor indoor air quality and the compounds which cause it.
There are continuing articles about this problem in magazines, newspapers, and national TV shows. Vacuum manufactures are constantly telling people that their vacuum cleaners can filter out contaminates like dust mites, reinforcing the fact that dust mites are bad for you and your family. Air filter companies are doing the same thing. Yet mattresses remain the biggest source of these contaminates.
Did you know that we sweat more than a pint of sweat a night? This sweat is soaked into the pad and mattress. The sweat along with all the dead skin we shed each night, which if laid on a table would be the size of a dollar bill, gets ground into the mattress and becomes food. Then we lay on this where our warm bodies create the perfect incubator for dust mites, bacteria, mold, fungus, and a host of other pathogens to grow. When we get up the bed cools and the growth slows, the dust mites and other pathogens hunker down until the next night when it starts all over again, night after night.
Dust mites after eating our dead skin excrete a substance called Guanine which is part of their fecal matter. The average mattress no matter how clean the owner thinks it is contains millions of dust mites, and each dust mite produces over 2000 particles of fecal matter, that is a lot of Guanine and a lot of dead decaying bodies which also cause allergic reactions.
How many people do you know that would feel comfortable laying in all that ocean of Guanine, dead skin and bacteria? Not many I’m sure. Now what if you could actually show these people what they are laying in. With a simple test using our special vacuum system, you will be able to show your customer the filth they are laying in.
